The Centre for Health Research and Evaluation (CHERE) is seeking to appoint a research fellow with policy analysis skills and experience. This Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow will work across CHERE’s research programs in health care financing and funding; and aged care; working in teams and independently to collate and summarise relevant documents, analyse health policy, and interpret policy implications of research findings.
CHERE is part of the UTS Business School and is recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence in health economics.
About the role
The Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow will report to the Deputy Director and leader of the policy evaluation program. In this role, you will support the Deputy Director and other senior staff in documenting policy developments within Australia, reviewing developments in other relevant countries, and critically appraising new policy proposals. You will identify and summarise available information and data that is relevant to any issue or topic.
- Able to identify, summarise and appraise appropriate policy developments from countries other than Australia
- Strong understanding of the Australian health and aged care systems and the current policy context
- Experienced in the analysis of policy proposals, particularly the financial and economic aspects
- Able to contribute peer reviewed publications, reports, and research applications
- Able to produce high quality reports using word processing packages and PowerPoint
- Post-graduate degree qualified in economics, health economics, health services research, public health, social sciences or equivalent
- Awarded a PhD in health economics or other social sciences field. (Level C only)
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $101,932 to $138,453 pa (Level B/C)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
