Associate Clinical Trials Manager
We are looking for enthusiastic professionals to join the Lancashire Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). Lancashire CTU has been set up to manage health related trials for UCLan and external organisations. Associate Clinical Trials Managers support the management, initiation and day-to-day running and closure of trial centres. The post holder will have responsibility for implementing and maintaining trial site administrative systems to ensure that all key responsibilities are met, and will monitor and record recruitment of participants into trials, reporting on such issues as required to the Trial Manager Team/Principal Clinical Trials Manager. It is not expected applicants will have detailed knowledge of all these activities from the outset but will be supported to acquire knowledge and skills during the probationary period.
The successful applicant will have knowledge of research activities in a clinical setting either as a researcher/research practitioner or as part of the clinical team (Nursing or Therapy) and experience of working within the NHS or in a clinical academic research setting. A first degree (or equivalent professional qualification e.g. RGN) in a relevant discipline is required.
Good Clinical Practice certification or able to show an understanding of the principles (at interview) is essential. Self-motivated and a good communicator, the post holder will be able to work effectively with members of multi-disciplinary teams from a range of professional backgrounds and levels of seniority. The post holder will also be able to acquire in-depth knowledge and understanding of clinical trial protocols and be able to communicate this clearly to professionals and lay persons.
This role may require periods of extensive travel as required by projects.
