Job Description

The Administrative Coordinator will provide support to the Division of Graduate Medical Sciences Doctoral and Masters program. Will provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean of GMS including managing schedules, planning events, and other duties. Will be responsible for management and processing of course educator contracts. Will handle sensitive material and confidential documents proficiently, and must be willing to complete other administrative tasks as needed.

Required Skills

An Associates, Vocational or Technical degree required with a Bachelor’s significantly preferred with 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly motivated, professional, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Must have professional work ethic; neat in appearance; be willing and able to perform multiple tasks that require considerable judgment, tact and understanding of the organizations procedures, especially on confidential matters; must be willing to learn and adapt to office environment. Familiarity with the BUMC/ BU environment is desired, as well as good time management skills, organization, accuracy and attention to detail, especially in preparing and verifying important documents. Skill Requirements: Must be proficient in Microsoft office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and be familiar with, Blackboard, WordPress, web survey development and implementation and web design. Excellent writing and editing skills, as well as good interpersonal skills are important. Dependability is expected, as well as flexibility during events. Must demonstrate excellent customer service and be able to adjust to individual needs of both the students, staff and faculty.
