The University of South Wales (USW) is a major player in UK higher education. With campuses in Cardiff, Pontypridd and Newport, USW is renowned for its partnerships with major employers. The University has a growing international profile, including a new Dubai campus that offers students the opportunity to study aerospace engineering in the heart of an emerging global hub for the aviation industry.

The University is now seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic leader to head its international operations across the full range of activities associated with international and overseas affairs.

This will include:

  • International Partnerships.
  • The Centre for International English.
  • International Recruitment.
  • Immigration and International Student Advice.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), the Director will be responsible for developing the University’s international strategy and extending its global reach. With substantial experience of international student recruitment, affairs and partnerships, candidates will bring the ability to provide strong leadership for a number of service heads and a track record of having successfully developed and led a student recruitment focused internationalisation strategy. Knowledge of existing and emerging international markets will be critical, as will experience of developing partnership and agent relationships.

Working closely with the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Board and the Deans of Faculties, the postholder will quickly develop credibility and success in this competitive area. If you feel you have the drive and skills to make a difference in this role then we look forward to hearing from you.
