Chief Operating Officer
Association of Commonwealth Universities - Appointment of Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a transformative new leadership role within the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), the membership organisation and representative body for universities of the Commonwealth. We support the development of higher education as a power for good across the Commonwealth and beyond. Being the world’s first international university network, we remain one of the most diverse, with 500+ members across more than 50 countries.
With three distinct but interconnected areas of work – member services, programmes, and scholarship administration, we combine delivering value to our members with achieving impact on the world of higher education globally.
The COO will play a crucial role in shaping our future during an exciting phase of development for the ACU. Working with the CEO and CFO, you will drive and deliver the ACU’s ambitious strategic plan and will provide inspiring leadership across the organisation.
You will have substantial experience in leading transformational change and driving organisational performance, continuous improvement and innovation. You will have international experience and be passionate and well-informed about the transformational power of higher education. With a degree, the new COO will also need to have a track record of income and business generation. Individuals from various backgrounds will be considered but a detailed understanding of the higher education environment, policy, strategic marketing and communication is essential. You must demonstrate a genuine alignment to the ACU’s mission and values.
The post will be based in the ACU’s offices in London, WC1H 9HF, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
