The ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) is a multi-disciplinary research centre administered by the University of New South Wales with nodes at the Australian National University, the University of Melbourne, the University of Sydney and the University of Western Australia and 16 official partners drawn from industry, government and academe.
About the role
- Senior Research Fellow: $125K – 143K + 17% superannuation and leave loading
- Senior Research Fellow, Associate Professor: $149K – 164K + 17% superannuation and leave loading
- Fixed term for three years
CEPAR seeks to appoint a suitably qualified person to join a research team focused on aged-based social policy and business practice in Asia. Depending on skills and experience of the successful candidate, an appointment will be made at either Senior Research Fellow, or Senior Research Fellow, Associate Professor.
The Senior Research Fellow (Level C) or Senior Research Fellow, Associate Professor (Level D) will conduct high quality research on projects focused on population ageing in Asia and its implications for labour markets, health and long-term care. The successful candidate will also participate in the strategic development of linkages with high calibre research institutions in Asia and support the development of a collaborative research program involving these institutions, CEPAR and the UNSW Business School.
About the successful applicant
For appointment at Level C, the successful applicant will hold a PhD in in Economics or a related discipline. In addition, the successful candidate will have an outstanding research record in a relevant area; excellent computing, data analysis and communication skills; highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary research team as well as independently; a capacity and willingness to participate in the development of institutional links and collaborative research programs; and a demonstrated ability to develop funding applications.
For appointment at Level D, the successful applicant in addition to Level C qualifications, will have published in top tier journals; proven experience in developing international links and collaborative research projects as well as effectively engaging with end users in Australia and abroad; and experience in student supervision.
