The Manager ICT position provides an on-site ICT support resource for all ICT Services on USP Solomon Islands Campus – overseeing and performing third level technical support on all ICT issues. The incumbent will also be the primary point of coordination for all USP ICT infrastructure, services and facilities on site working jointly with USP Solomon Islands campus on the administration of this function. The position will oversee provisioning of key resource for the operation, maintenance and configuration management for all ICT infrastructure. The position provides accurate and timely reports on the status of all ICT infrastructure.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the appointee will be responsible for the availability and process of collation, documentation and dissemination of information regarding ICT user services at USP Solomon Island campus. The appointee will also be required to coordinate the use of all ICT services, resources and facilities for USP Solomon Islands campus users. The incumbent will also be responsible for the third level operation and maintenance of critical ICT infrastructure and is expected to. In coordination with Laucala Campus IT Services or work in isolation, perform third level troubleshooting on any faults/issues on Solomon Islands ICT Services and expected to resolve faults/outages in a timely and proficient manner.

The Person We Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A Master’s Degree in Computing/Information Systems/Engineering and ideally 5 years of experience in relevant field(s) Or an undergraduate degree with ideally 8 years of experiences;
  • Enthusiasm for networking and network building;
  • A good knowledge of ICT;
  • Be innovative, creative and entrepreneurial;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and also have a working knowledge of enterprise-level ICT technology.

Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • Any relevant technical certification on relevant ICT VSAT networking, systems, PC, OS or application technologies will be an added advantage.

Remuneration

The position is available for a term of 3 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range: Level 3 SBD $261,553 to SBD $320,353 per annum (Inclusive of 15% Gratuity)

The University may pay an inducement allowance to secure the services of an exceptionally well qualified candidate.

In addition to the above benefits, the University contributes 10% of basic salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and relocation costs where appropriate.
