Kingspan Access Flooring Ltd. have joined forces with Sheffield Hallam University on this KTP project to enable them to develop high performance, low embodied energy core materials for the Kingspan raised access flooring system. This company partner, based in Hull, is the world’s largest supplier of raised access flooring

The company has identified a need to investigate, research and develop this concept to pre-production level. You will be working at the junctions of materials technology and mechanical engineering.

Ideally, you will have a Master's degree in Materials/Civil/Mechanical Engineering with knowledge and experience of material testing techniques relevant to the project. Knowledge and experience of engineering design and detailing including appropriate use of IT is essential and a good understanding of heat transfer is desirable. Relevant industrial experience is highly desirable, and you must be pro-active, have excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

You will be based at the company site in Hull working directly with senior company staff, as well as receiving additional mentoring support from expert university staff. The role requires a commitment to travel in pursuance of the programme objectives (predominantly between the company and the University).
