Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Non-Clinical Assistant Professor in Kinesiology (2 posts) in the School of Public Health, to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a relevant discipline. For post (A), candidates should have a strong research interest and publication record in the role of physical activity in public health, especially in the epidemiology of physical activity, and be able to design population-level intervention programmes. For post (B), candidates should be a specialist in clinical exercise physiology and has experience in formulating exercise programmes for the prevention and control of chronic diseases. For both posts, they are expected to have a track record of high-quality impactful research as indicated by publication record and external grants. They should also demonstrate a strong commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching in a wide spectrum of courses such as exercise and health, physical activity measurement, physical inactivity epidemiology, public health promotion, and exercise physiology, etc. The appointees will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development; conduct scientific research in accordance with the School’s strategies priorities, including its new thematic research programme of Healthy Cities in a Healthy World; undertake supervisory duties over research teams and postgraduate students; and assist in administrative duties in the School, Faculty and University.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
