The School of Architecture and Planning at the University of Auckland is looking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to teach and research in the fields of architectural history, theory and criticism; (particularly architectural theory), as well as architectural design.

The School of Architecture and Planning in the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries is New Zealand's leading educator of Architects, Urban Designers and Urban Planners and is highly regarded for its advanced interdisciplinary study and research, innovative design focus and studio based pedagogy. We have a diverse and internationally recognised academic staffing body and strong connections with professional communities. Our teaching and research is supported by outstanding library collections and databases, excellent digital and traditional workshops, and specialist studio facilities.

We are seeking applications from candidates who can provide innovative and high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including doctoral supervision.

We are seeking an individual who:

  • can evidence a developed research and publication programme
  • holds a professionally recognised qualification in architecture
  • has a PhD in the area of architectural theory.

Preference will be given to applicants who are experienced in teaching in the area sought, with a strong record of publication and postgraduate supervision.
