Role Description

Cranfield is a world-renowned, specialist postgraduate University, creating leaders in technology and management.

Communications and External Affairs (CEA) is responsible for enhancing and protecting Cranfield’s reputation, engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders and raising awareness of Cranfield’s brand and its distinctiveness.

We are looking for an experienced social media manager, who 'lives' social and has helped other organisations to develop new ways of engaging their audiences, exceeding their customers’ needs and injecting brand personality into their content. This is a key role to lead social media for the University and to be the point of contact and authority for all things related to social media.

You will be required to implement our social media strategy, policies and guidelines, drive our social media activity forward and engage with our diverse range of audiences.

You will manage social engagement activity, driving discussion and managing responses across networks including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, and Snapchat. This will involve extensive communication with colleagues across the University. You will have broad experience of establishing and maintaining networks across a large and complex institution.

You will direct how we participate in social media channels, and will be expected to keep a close eye on the evolving social landscape, identifying opportunities and creating content plans. This is a fantastic role for someone with strong influencing skills and confidence, who is capable of demonstrating excellence, creativity and results, ideally in a higher education setting. This is a high impact role and we are looking for someone who can rise to the challenge.

If you have led social media activity and engagement in other organisations, not necessarily in education, then we'd love to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Hannah Keep, Social Media Manager, on +44 (0)1234 758139 or 07824431475; or email hannah.keep@cranfield.ac.uk

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential.
