Admissions is charged with leading undergraduate recruitment and outreach efforts for the entire university, as well as making decisions on all undergraduate applications, and processing graduate applications. This complex office of over 50 staff recruits actively around the state of Colorado and travels from coast to coast to interact with an annual prospect pool of over 240,000 students each year, and manages over 30,000 applications per year including 4,700 transfer applications. Through innovative and strategic approaches, Admissions strives to balance its growth in attracting an increasingly diverse and well-prepared student body while remaining true to its land-grant mission and heritage. Colorado State was the first public institution west of the Mississippi with membership in the Common Application Organization, and employs a holistic, comprehensive review process to select new undergraduates, not only in light of their preparation, but their potential to successfully contribute to the campus community.

INTO University Partnerships is an organization working in partnership with leading universities and investing in the development of world-class international student centers. It specializes in preparing students for undergraduate and postgraduate study. INTO Centers deliver guaranteed progression into leading undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Each INTO Center is managed by a joint venture management board in which INTO and the partner university are equal shareholders.

Position Summary

This is a 12-month, full-time, administrative professional position. The position is responsible for evaluating applications and international credentials for entry to INTO CSU Pathway programs within a designated timeframe. The evaluator works to ensure the evaluation of Pathway applicants is consistent with current INTO CSU and CSU admissions guidelines. When necessary, he/she will consult with the Graduate School and graduate departments regarding necessary degree requirements. In addition to integrity and ethics, the International Credential Evaluator is expected to uphold:

Required Job Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree in the liberal arts, sciences, engineering, business, arts, agricultural sciences, or a related field
•Proficient communication skills in the English language
•High proficiency in MS Office, math/computation, and data entry skills – specifically student data systems
•Strong written communication skills, demonstrated in application materials
•At least one year of experience evaluating foreign credentials at a post-secondary institution

•Training in handling sensitive documents (immigration paperwork, for example)
•Previous experience as an international student / study abroad attendee

•Working knowledge in Salesforce or comparable CRM system

Essential Duties

• Review and admit international applicants to the INTO CSU programs by utilizing an understanding of international credentials, grading systems, internationally administered tests (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, PTEA, SAT, ACT), or acceptable proficiency waivers to verify and confirm that a student is admissible to a specific CSU program based on various requirements at both the undergraduate and graduate level
• Work collaboratively with INTO and CSU to establish Pathway admission guidelines, minimum requirements for admission to the Pathway program, on a country-by-country basis
• Works closely with the Senior Assistant Director to establish the unique admission criteria for 1, 2, or 3 semester admission, as well as to inform the direct entry process to INTO pathway and CSU programs
• Serve as a member of the Admissions Application Review Committee responsible for rendering admission decisions on international and domestic, undergraduate and transfer applications to the University

• Evaluate and convert international credentials for INTO CSU Pathway programs, assessing the level of educational attainment, the grading system, authenticity, conversion and admissibility based on the country and system where each student attended school
• Utilize best practices in the field, research with professional organizations (IACAC), international resources (AACRAO), and collaboration across campus, including academic departments, to ensure that international students meet the same or comparable admission criteria as their domestic peers
• Meet evaluation and processing goals and timelines (i.e. decision-making and turnaround times to be less than 5 business days for all INTO CSU programs) as assigned by INTO North America
• Stay up-to-date on international credential evaluation standards and related academic policies

• Manage reports and logging systems related to registration holds for future and current students

• Assist with student programming such as international orientation and events celebrating the international student population at INTO CSU and CSU
• Communicate with students regarding required official academic documents that must be submitted to the University to allow registration at events, verify the authenticity of the applicants admission materials, and add them to their student record
