Admissions is charged with leading undergraduate recruitment and outreach efforts for the entire university, as well as making decisions on all undergraduate applications, and processing graduate applications. This complex office of over 60 staff recruits actively around the state of Colorado, travels from coast to coast to interact with an annual prospect pool of over 60,000 students each year, and manages over 30,000 applications per year including 4700 transfer applications. Through innovative and strategic approaches, Admissions strives to attract an increasingly diverse and well-prepared student body in fulfillment of its land-grant mission and heritage. Colorado State was the first public institution west of the Mississippi with membership in the Common Application Organization, and employs a holistic, comprehensive review process to best select new undergraduates not only in light of their preparation but also their potential to successfully contribute to the campus community.

Position Summary

The Transfer Regional Representative will be responsible for foundational admissions and enrollment management activities primarily in the Denver region, as well as additional territory management duties. This position will spend approximately 80% of their work time in their territory (Denver and Colorado Springs) and 20% on CSU’s campus in Fort Collins. This position is responsible for the recruiting and outreach efforts to prospective and admitted transfer students, with particular emphasis on building relationships and establishing strong connections in the Metro Denver community colleges. While the primary responsibility of this role is transfer recruitment and outreach, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working with other student populations they encounter, as well. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of college access initiatives throughout Colorado, including institutional and state initiatives.

Required Job Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree in the liberal arts, sciences, engineering, business, arts, agricultural sciences, or a related field
•Two years of customer service or similar experience
•Demonstrated presentation or public speaking skills
•At least one year of admissions or college counseling (high school) experience
•Ability to work irregular hours, including occasional nights and weekends
•Demonstrated commitment to Colorado State University’s Principles of Community
•Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date

Preferred Job Qualifications

•A master’s degree in Higher Education or a related field
•Experience working with transfer students in admissions, financial aid, transfer credit evaluation, academic advising, or a related capacity
•Experience in a remote or regional position or demonstrated success working independently in a professional environment
•Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
•Experience working with diverse or traditionally underrepresented populations

Essential Duties

• Help prospective transfer students see their path to and through Colorado State University
• Counsel prospective transfer students and their families/advocates through the admissions process, including application generation and completion initiatives, yield initiatives, and assisting students in planning their transfer to CSU
• Respond to phone and email inquiries
• Conduct remote office hours at the community colleges and elsewhere throughout the territory
