Assistant Director, Student Affairs, Howard Thurman Center
The Assistant Director of the Thurman Center Network is responsible for developing and enforcing a series of benchmarks used to create satellite Thurman Center programs across the Charles River, Fenway, and Medical campuses. The Assistant Director will actively implement programs in collaboration with faculty and staff across the university to spread a common ground ethos and ensure the mission of the Howard Thurman Center is faithfully communicated by individual schools and colleges. Responsibilities also include: creating and training a conversation corps comprised of undergraduate students who will give leadership to important conversations regarding culture, difference and controversial topics; facilitating programs and workshops on leadership and ethics based on Howard Thurmans philosophy and scholarship; leading the Student Ambassador program in collaboration with the Associate Director; working with a graduate intern on projects related to the Thurman Network; working with the Associate Director as required to implement programs and events on behalf of the Howard Thurman Center.
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Three to five years of experience required.
