You are invited to apply for a 1.0 FTE (full-time) position as a Senior Research Fellow. The position is a conjoint appointment between AUT - Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences and Waitemata District Health Board (WDHB) - Pain Services, Department of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. The position is for an initial 3 year fixed term contract with renewal determined by achieving agreed performance indicators.
This position requires a person who has had a significant involvement in clinical and/or laboratory based research concerning pain or closely related fields. The role includes the opportunity to develop a new stream of research within this area. A highlight is the co-sponsored nature of the position (AUT and WDHB) which allows a combination of clinical and laboratory based studies to be undertaken. Additional roles include leadership and active participation in project management activities, as well as some teaching sessions and supervision of postgraduate students. The post will require the applicant to be innovative, independent and have excellent communication skills.
You will hold a PhD in an area related to pain or a medical degree with postgraduate qualifications and significant experience in pain research. The applicant will demonstrate the ability to work in both academic and clinical environments.
You will have sound knowledge and experience of research and applied statistical analyses.
