Building Services Operative
The Estates & Capital Development Department supporting the University to achieve its core business objectives in education and research.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Operative to join a busy Maintenance & Engineering Team within the Estates and Capital Development Department
Reporting to the M&E Supervisor, you will have a mechanical/ pipefitting bias and will join the shift team, undertaking planned maintenance, reactive repairs and minor installation of pipework, plumbing and ventilation systems at the Aston University Birmingham City Centre campus, and Recreation Centre in Walsall.
A formal qualification as a commercial plumber/pipefitter is required as well demonstrable experience in this role. You will have substantial experience of screwed steel pipework.
You must have good written and spoken communication skills, and are able to work accurately with attention to detail and with a high level of organisation. A strong customer service focus is essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
