Salary: Grade 8, £42,418 - £49,149 per annum
The post-holder will be responsible for the effective planning, organising and management of the University’s Cochno Farm & Research Centre staff, animal enterprises, machinery, contractors, agricultural land and forestry, in order to achieve the commercial, research and teaching goals set out for the farm by the School of Veterinary Medicine. The post-holder will have day to day management responsibilities for all farm staff. The role is to develop and implement effective systems of staff, animal and land management to
improve profitability, and service research and teaching needs.
You will be responsible for facilitating and supporting the research and teaching activities at the farm, along with knowledge transfer (KT) and outreach activities that may be based around the farm and associated research. The post-holder will also explore ways to further develop the farm’s role as a resource for production animal and equine research, animal husbandry and veterinary clinical teaching, and
biodiversity/ecological/ environmental research and teaching.
Although this post is a significant management position, it is expected that the post-holder will contribute to operational duties when required to support farming, research and teaching activities.
