The UAE Research Center for Renewable Energy Mapping and Assessment at Khalifa University of Science and Technology (recrema.masdar.ac.ae) is looking for an enthusiastic person with the skills and experience in Electrical Engineering. The candidate will be a part of a goal driven team working on developing Renewable Energy Management System (REMS) for large-scale integration of renewable power generation (PV, Wind and CSP) and energy storage systems. The selected candidate is expected,
- To provide high quality research support and undertake internationally competitive research aimed at publication, thereby contributing to the academic and research mission of the University.
- Ability to present research plans and findings in a convincing style, both in oral and written modes of communication.
The candidate is expected to :
- Work closely with expert of different professional background in the development of Renewable Energy Management System (REMS),
- Provide high-quality support for the Center’s activities,
- Publishing research finding in top academic journals
The candidate should have a Master/PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, possess good English language skills, have good communication skills, and have an established track record evident by publication in top quality journals
The ideal candidate should also have expertise in some of the following areas of Energy Management System, forecasting tool, System Optimization, Renewable Power Generation (PV & Wind), Battery Energy Storage System and Power System Operation:
< > Design of the Renewable Energy Management System Architecture, Develop Combined Renewable Energy Forecasting Tool, Develop Optimal Dispatch Tool for scheduling the renewable power generation, Ancillary service dispatch algorithm for combined wind-PV-CSP-BESS energy systems, Validation of Renewable Energy Management System on real Case Study, Proven programming skills for analytical and modeling purposes, e.g. Matlab and PSCAD,
