Lecturer in Human Geography
The Department of the Natural and Built Environment is based in the Faculty of Development and Society and encompasses a range of subject areas including Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Planning, Architecture, Real Estate, Construction and Surveying.
Joining the Geography team provides an opportunity to work with a friendly and dynamic staff group, where you will be able to make a valuable contribution to the teaching programme, with opportunities to embed your expertise within the teaching curriculum and develop innovative teaching and learning experiences.
You will teach geography related topics and skills, largely within the Human Geography and Geography disciplines within in our undergraduate programme, with potential teaching into some of the Department's postgraduate courses.
You will deliver a challenging and engaging learning experience to our students, and your ability to connect with a wide range of people will enable you to engage with both students and relevant professional environments to promote student learning in a real world context. A commitment to research and scholarship in the subject area is also expected. You must have a good honours degree (i.e. UK 2.1 or 1st Class), or equivalent professional qualification or experience in a relevant discipline. A Doctorate (or equivalent) or close to completion in a relevant discipline is desirable.
