The School of Engineering and Built Environment has been providing tertiary qualifications to the Engineering, Architecture and Aviation professions for over two decades and is known for its innovative and student-focussed teaching approaches and its strong industry relationships. There has been a rapid growth in student numbers since 2007 and we now teach over 3000 students at both undergraduate and postgraduate programs across multiple campuses in multiple disciplines. Griffith Aviation, which forms part of the School of Engineering and Built Environment, is known worldwide for its innovative and student focussed teaching. This discipline has grown rapidly since 2007 and now manages over 500 full time equivalent students each year in both undergraduate and graduate programs.

The aviation industry is growing at a rapid rate globally and especially in the Asia-Pacific region and thus requires significant numbers of highly educated new staff. Griffith Aviation is at the leading edge of providing the education, training and research needed to maintain the safety and sustainability of the aviation industry into the future. Griffith Aviation has an impressive Industry Advisory Board with representatives including Qantas, QantasLink, Virgin Australia and Queensland Airports Limited.

Griffith Aviation offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the areas of pilot training and aviation management. Our Bachelor of Aviation prepares students for employment in the aviation industry and, together with the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management, for work as a commercial pilot. Commencing in 2018, students will also be able to combine this program with a Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Electronic Engineering.
