The Bristol Medical School (BRMS) is the largest School at the University with over 900 members of staff and over 200 postgraduate doctoral research students. You will be responsible for providing Data Management services to the whole School, with a focus on the department of Population Heath Sciences (PHS).

You will use your skills and experience to devise innovative solutions to further develop data management across the School, manage relationships with researchers and internal UoB and external stakeholders to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and adequately resourced. You will be responsible for ensuring that the data management systems within the School comply with relevant laws, policies and standards.

You will lead and provide input into multiple unique projects across the School, including designing an Academic Workload Review system to meet the school’s ongoing requirements, which will include:

  • Evaluation of the requirements against potential supplier solutions and bespoke development options.
  • Managing the development and/or procurement process for the system.
  • Co-ordinate testing and ensuring requirements are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

You will have sufficient technical knowledge to be able to write code to integrate or enhance existing systems. Technologies include PHP, MySQL, MS Access and SQL Server applications running on Windows and Centos Operating Systems.

You will also have sole responsibility for responding to and resolving queries in relation to data management across the School, using their own skills and experience to decide on the appropriate solutions.
