Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science is a large and diverse faculty within UQ that incorporates seven schools and four research centres across two campuses and several other sites. It has a large population of domestic and international students and administers the Bachelor of Science and related dual programs plus a range of generalist and specialist undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

The units within the Faculty of Science are internationally recognised and their teaching and research successes create a stimulating environment within which the Faculty staff work. The Faculty is managed by the Executive Dean, who has direct responsibility for the physical, financial and human resources, academic matters relating to programs and students, and a range of other areas such as the development of research, national and international marketing, and enhanced government, business and community links.

The role

The position works within the Faculty of Science Student and Academic Administration team. The position will be primarily located on the Gatton Campus. The primary purpose of this position is to provide high quality customer service and administrative support with regard to matters relating to students enrolled in the Faculty’s programs.

This position will have responsibility for completing a diverse range of administrative processing tasks and associated day-to-day problem resolution and maintenance of administrative systems. The position is required to provide high quality customer service through the delivery of friendly, helpful, accurate, and informative advice and services to students, professional and academic staff.

The person

Applicants should possess relevant qualifications and/or at least two years’ relevant experience. Applicants should have a strong desire for the provision of high quality customer service, the ability to work as part of a team, good judgement and the ability to organise work flow to meet competing demands and deadlines. Well-developed writing and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to utilise IT systems is a must. Experience and knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to student administration is highly desirable.


The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597.80 – $72,348.94 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 17% (total package will be in the range $75,579 - $84,648 p.a.).
