Assistant Director and Veterans Services, Enrollment, Financial Assistance
The Assistant Director Veterans Services Coordinator will work as part of a team and will help BU Financial Assistance achieve Boston University's goals for recruitment, retention, and superior service by assisting students in financing their education through financial analysis, planning and advisement. The individual selected to fill this position will manage a caseload of undergraduate and graduate students which will include, but not be limited to, those who are veterans and dependents of veterans of the U.S. armed services.
Counsel prospective and enrolled students and their families about the process of applying for financial aid and veterans benefits, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external managers, including officials at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Candidates should submit a cover letter and resume along with their application. The ideal candidate will possess: •Strong analytical and organizational skills •Effective communication and problem solving skills •Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment •Working knowledge of Veterans Educational Benefits preferred Familiarity with federal and state financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations
Bachelor's degree and at least one to three years of experience in a service and detail oriented position, strong analytical and organizational skills.
