Applications are invited for a full-time, without-term Lectureship / Senior Lectureship in Law. We are seeking applications from highly motivated candidates who will contribute to the development of the new Roehampton Law School. The successful applicant will be involved in developing and/or teaching modules in Property Law and Practice, Human Rights Law, English Legal Systems and commercial law-related subjects and assist in redesigning the Law programmes in readiness for the intended Solicitors Qualifying Examination.

The successful applicant, if a research active academic, will also help develop the current suite of Masters programmes run across the Department of Social Sciences.

The Roehampton Law School runs programmes in law and related disciplines designed with a focus on employability potential for all areas of legal practice. The core qualifying law degree offering teaches law in the context of legal practice and brings students face to face with practitioners throughout their studies. The Law School also runs programmes with the Sutton Trust and the Citizens Advice Bureau, as well as a programme of
outreach with partner schools. All staff take part in these activities. In September 2018, the Law School will deliver its first LLM in Human Rights and Legal Practice.

The Law School is part of the Department of Social Sciences, which offers undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in criminology, human rights and international relations, sociology and law. The department is also home to the Crucible Centre for Human Rights Research and has a track-record of producing high quality research outputs, winning external funding and collaborating with national and international partnerships. In REF 2014 over 50% of research and 100% of impact case studies in the Department of Social Sciences were classed as world leading or internationally excellent.

This is an exciting time for the University; our new £35m state-of-the art library has just opened and we are continuing to develop a number of external partnerships across the globe.

We have a strong emphasis on supporting our students to reach their full potential in order to launch themselves onto successful graduate careers and we are embarking on a radical programme of enhancement in learning and teaching across all our academic areas.

The University has a beautiful, vibrant parkland campus, is located in the heart of southwest London and offers excellent facilities for researching, learning, teaching and working. We are proud of our achievements as a Post 1992 University and continue to build upon them.
