The team activities involve -
- Wired & Wireless Systems Engineering
- Cloud Network Design, Configuration, Deployment and Operation
- 5G Service creation on cloud networks and trials
As an expert in experimental trials of one or more 5G technology enablers, or advanced networking experimentation for 5G converged wired & wireless systems, you will work on systems and networks design defining the specifications for procurement, solution configuration, deployment of hardware and software for end to end testing of the selected technologies.
Software Network Engineer
We are looking for experienced software engineer with networking background in wired access, wireless access, network design and solution integration engineers to undertake a pivotal role in the network design, configuration, deployment and testing of a newly built 5G test network in the City of Bristol with a pre-commercial demonstration of end-to-end 5G applications.
The technology demonstrator will include 5G wireless, optical and layer 2 transport technologies that are controlled by a Software Defined Network (SDN) controller and utilise a Network Function Virtualization (NFV) platform. Specialization in development and deployment of open source SDN and NFV platform with experience in transport network optimisation and operation is sought.
This post is being offered on a full time, fixed-term contract until 30 November 2019.
