Postdoctoral Fellow - Lipid metabolism and host-parasite interactions.

The Burleigh Lab at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to advance an ongoing research project centered on mammalian cell lipid metabolism and its role in supporting intracellular parasitic infection. The successful candidate will be able to combine molecular genetic approaches (CRISPR/Cas9, RNAi), biochemical methods (metabolic labeling, lipid isolation, thin layer chromatography) and cellular imaging (live and fixed cells) to delineate the molecular basis of lipid scavenging by the intracellular parasite Trypanosoma cruzi.

Basic Qualifications

Ideal applicants will hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in cell biology / molecular biology / biochemistry / or molecular parasitology. Strong cell and molecular biology laboratory skills are essential. Additional lipid biochemistry experience is preferred. Candidates must have a high level of motivation, demonstrate a track record of consistent publication, have strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
