Description of Work Unit
The River Area Extension Office provides services in the following areas: 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Science, Gardening/ Horticulture, Entomology, and Water Quality. The Tri River Area is a four-county partnership between Mesa, Delta, Montrose & Ouray counties. This position is based in Mesa County, with the office located in Grand Junction.
This Administrative Assistant position supports the Extension agents in the Mesa County office. The position provides clerical and accounting assistance, help with registrations, prepare deposits, and reconcile accounts. They also provide back up for answering phones, greeting the public and providing customer service.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- Two full-time years (24 months) of general clerical experience or accounting experience

- Demonstrated accounting knowledge and abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Conflict resolution skills in assisting various constituent groups
- Experience or knowledge of CSU Extension is highly desired
