THE JOCKEY CLUB CREATIVE ARTS CENTRE
JCCAC is a vibrant multidisciplinary arts village and arts centre, a hub of creative synergy and exciting arts and cultural programmes housed in an award-winning architectural conversion from the former Shek Kip Mei Factory Estate. It operates as a self-financed and registered charity. JCCAC now invites applications for the following position:
Programme Officer (JCCAC006/17-18)
The appointee will assist the Programme Management Team in matters related to arts programme execution. Tasks include:
(a) coordination and implementation of arts programmes;
(b) artistic coordination of exhibitions;
(c) communication and marketing work;
(d) liaison with internal and external working partners;
(e) programme proposal and report writing, and budget control;
(f) overseeing production of corporate publications and publicity materials;
(g) conducting guided tours for guests and the public; and
(h) any other duties assigned by the Centre management.
Qualifications and Requirements
(a) have a recognised university degree or above (or an equivalent standard of education) in a relevant discipline, e.g. visual arts/fine arts/arts administration/marketing/project and event management;
(b) preferably have at least two years of relevant work experience, with that in curating/coordinating exhibitions an advantage;
(c) be interested in cultural venue and arts programme management;
(d) possess excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
(e) be fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
(f) be well organised, highly motivated, proactive and creative in problem solving;
(g) be able to work independently as well as a good team player;
(h) be savvy in social/electronic media marketing and communication;
(i) have basic knowledge and skills in graphic design and Photoshop preferred but is not essential; and
(j) if occasionally called for, be willing to undertake irregular work hours and work on weekends and/or public holidays.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
The appointee will initially be offered a fixed-term contract of two years, renewable thereafter subject to mutual agreement. A competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered to the right candidate.
