An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Compliance Technician to join the University’s Compliance team based in the Estates Department 1-9 Old Park Hill.

The role supports the HV Authorising Engineer and Compliance officer and carries responsibility for the delivery of Electrical Testing and inspection using the nominated Electrical Contractors. This includes all resulting remedial works using a mixture of university staff and specialist Sub Contractors again selected from the University Electrical Framework Agreements.

Whilst there are a variety of tasks within electrical compliance, Your priority will be the programming and management of Electrical testing Schedules as arranged between the nominated contractor, the FM and residences. Tracking /recording remedial works and updating the Dedicated Web Portal, departmental spread sheet and access databases, to ensure all records are current and up to date.

You will have experience of and a working knowledge of the electrical wiring regulations (BS7671) current edition and specifically guidance note 3 on test and inspection. You will be comfortable with communicating at all levels and issuing instructions to both Specialist Sub contractors and Directly employed engineers to ensure timely testing and completion of remedial works.

You will be enthusiastic, calm under pressure, and competent in the use of electronic data, Excel spread sheets and e-mail communication. You will need an understanding of working within budget constraints and be prepared to escalate financial and operational issues to your immediate line Manager.
Working as part of a successful and highly motivated team, you will be able to contribute to the development of the University Compliance team.
