Clinical supervisors provide formal supervision for students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Emotionally Focused Counselling and Graduate Diploma of Emotionally Focused Therapy. Students are practitioners from a range of professional backgrounds, which includes counsellors, therapists, psychologists and social workers. Supervision is delivered in both group and individual modes.
Reporting to the Senior Lecturer, this role provides quality supervision of students’ Emotionally Focused practice with individuals and couples. Supervision aims to deepen students’ understanding of the EFT model, strengthen their case conceptualisation skills and develop EFT counselling and therapy skills. Supervisors are required to submit a report (using the IEFT pro forma template) on completion of a student’s supervision requirements, and to communicate with the Senior Lecturer about concerns about students’ ethical practice and/or competence.
Clinical supervisors will work from their own professional premises or online using Zoom or Gotomeeting web conferencing (or similar).
