Sessional Lecturer, Emotionally Focused Therapy
Sessional Lecturers have a key role in delivering the Emotionally Focused Therapy accredited higher education courses to students. IEFT’s courses are the Graduate Certificate in Emotionally Focused Counselling and Graduate Diploma of Emotionally Focused Therapy. Classes are timetabled in Friday/Saturday workshops within two semesters each year. Classes are small in size and include both enrolled course students and CPD students (non-assessed).
The role includes: preparing for teaching, completing prescribed readings, delivering prepared lectures, demonstrating Emotionally Focused counselling and therapy using both demonstration audio recordings and practice sessions in class, demonstrating Emotion Focused protocols and marking student assessments. Individual and group supervision of students may also be part of the role. This role is aligned with the TEQSA Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards), as updated from time to time, and the Institute’s Strategic Plan, Teaching and Learning Plan, and approved policies and procedures.
Sessional Lecturers will be responsive to staff and student feedback.
Reporting to the Institute’s Academic Director or Senior Lecturer, this role is responsible for quality teaching and assessment, and maintaining scholarship in the discipline and in teaching and learning.
