Where you will work

The Office of Advancement is housed within the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Corporate Engagement and Advancement which exists to achieve the strategic goals for the University with regard to corporate engagement, advancement and the Macquarie University brand.

The Role

The Development Manager, Major Gifts role manages a significant portfolio of major donors, and works to support our engagement agenda and the philanthropic goals of the University.

With a proven track record in securing five and six figure major gifts, you will be a sophisticated communicator with the confidence to build relationships at senior level with colleagues across a complex organisation as well as a broad range of donors. Critical to your success, will be your target driven, creative and engaged approach. A keen interest in, and genuine enthusiasm for the work of Macquarie University is essential.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the following experience and/or knowledge in your CV and cover letter:

  • Extensive experience working in fundraising, or in a similar business development focused position
  • A successful track record in cultivating and soliciting five and six figure major gifts
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and donors
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing a budget

Salary Package: from $100,706 – $112,058 p.a. (Level 8) plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
