The University of Stirling is a leading UK teaching and research-intensive university, created by Royal Charter in 1967. Since its foundation, the University has embraced its role as an innovative, intellectual and cultural institution with a pioneering spirit and a passion for excellence in all that it does.

The new Dean will lead an innovative, outward facing School which brings together five academic divisions: Accounting and Finance; Economics; Management, Work and Organisation; Marketing and Retail plus the Centre for Advanced Management Education. There are several areas of research excellence based within the University of Stirling Management School, including the Institute for Retail Studies; the Centre for Research into Information, Surveillance and Privacy; and the Behavioural Science Centre. The University of Stirling Management School offers an outstanding student experience and offers its graduates exceptionally high levels of employability.  Its research is internationally recognized for its rigour and relevance, which is reflected in it being ranked 25th out of 101 Business Schools and 14th for Impact in REF2014. It has around 75 academic staff and a total turnover of £13m, and delivers programmes to over 1600 students on campus.  It also delivers degree courses to students in the Far and Middle East, and enjoys other strong international links which it seeks to further develop. Its MBA and MSc Business and Management course are AMBA accredited, making the University of Stirling Management School one of only 2% of business schools worldwide to hold such an award. Building on this success, it aims to achieve the ‘triple crown’ of business school accreditation and is at advanced stages of achieving this ambition.

Ideal candidates will have leadership experience in relevant disciplinary and business school accreditation areas and will have strong research credentials in their own right.  A commitment to innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to research and a passion for delivering a high quality student experience will be key, as will the ambition to ensure that the University of Stirling Management School continues its journey to becoming a leading global player - with the new Dean forging strong international relationships and achieving triple accreditation. They will be successful team-builders, able to foster collaborative working across a group of academics coming from a broad range of perspectives and viewpoints.
