Research Fellow - Manufacturing and Materials
Fixed Term until March 2019
The Faculty of Manufacturing and Materials within Coventry University is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual to undertake applied research in the area of CAD/computational modelling, FEA and/or CFD and thermal modelling in the design and testing of manufacturing equipment.
The successful applicant will be expected to have strong research expertise in one or more of the following processes and technologies:
Discrete or process manufacturing
CAD/computational modelling, FEA and/or CFD and thermal modelling
Design and testing of prototype manufacturing equipment
Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
FEA and/or CFD software
Mould design and mould flow analysis
Mechanical design or mechatronics
Alternatively applicants with a strong industrial research background underpinned by evidence of a good track record of publications associated with the HVM sector will also be welcomed.
Candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline with at least 3 years post-doctoral research and a developing international reputation for research excellence.
The successful candidate will be working initially as a key member of the University's research team with our consortium partner Base Materials on the Innovate UK funded SABOT project involving development of a state-of-the-art pilot production line for the manufacture of biodegradable polymer tooling boards used in moulding of composite materials and industrial model making.
