This position is responsible for core and enterprise facets of network infrastructure and architecture. This includes evaluation, development, and implementation of architectural principles, establishing and documenting practices and procedures, implementation and installation of solutions, and, on larger projects, overseeing project teams. Tasks include project management, needs assessment, and the use of best practices to design and deploy solutions. Projects involve the various elements underpinning network services, such as switches, routers, wired and wireless transmission, load balancers, VPNs, firewalls, IP addresses, vLANs, ACLs, and network-related servers and services such as RADIUS, DNS, and DHCP. Projects may require coordination with other project management teams comprised of coworkers, clients, and subject matter experts. Other responsibilities include monitoring, investigation, resolution of incidents.
B.A./B.S., advanced knowledge of and experience with routing policies and protocols, hardware, software, and test and management tools a must. Project Management, ITIL Foundations, and Advanced Cisco certification such as CCNP in wired, wireless, datacenter, voice, or comparable experience desirable.
