The Department of Biology offers BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology, MPhil, and PhD degrees in Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences. The Department places a strong emphasis on both quality education and scholarly research/services.
The Department of Biology is recruiting tenure-track faculty members in the following area:
Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (Environmental Toxicology) (PR381/17-18)
Applicants should have a PhD degree in biochemistry, toxicology, molecular biology, biological chemistry, genetics/genomics, or a related field. Candidates should possess expertise in toxicology, with specialisation in one or more of the following areas: biochemical and molecular toxicology, endocrine disruption, toxicogenomics and systems toxicology. Other areas relevant to environmental toxicology will also be considered.
The appointees are expected to develop strong externally-funded research programmes, and committed to excellence in teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
These are tenure-track positions with initial appointment to be made on fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Tenure is expected to be attained within six years.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
