About the job
We are looking for a candidate who is excited by the prospect of integrating state of the art technologies in a wide range of areas while being highly motivated to build practical solutions for the real world. As our Research Engineer, you will have worked in a robotics related field, and possess a very broad skills set, and a proven ability in evaluating and integrating existing technologies.
Ideally you will have documented experience of robot kinematics, robot programming and robot integration. In this 18 month project based role, you will contribute to the development of a demonstrator prototype of an integrated 3D printing robotic repair station for automotive components and subassemblies. Working closely with a team of material scientists and roboticists, and our industry partner, you will develop an integrated system that is commercially scalable and meet all technical performance requirements for the targeted industry applications.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- PhD in mechatronics, robotics or related field or significant industrial experience
- Practical experience in developing/integrating solutions for articulated robots and an understanding of real world issues that arise
- Ability to analyze, improve and propose new algorithms/solutions
