The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering is one of the largest and most prestigious in Australia, with 2500 student enrolments, 80 academic staff, 25 professional staff, and total annual budget of over $22 million including external research grants. About the role
The successful candidate deliver outstanding research and teaching in the area of Advanced Bionics Manufacturing and Medical Robotics. The Engineering Faculty has a well-established track record in assistive technologies; care robotics is targeted as a specific area for focus. There are significant opportunities for building collaboration and further cross-faculty capacity as well as strong collaborations with Medicine, the Lowy Cancer Research Centre and clinical collaborators through this appointment.
The appointment would be:
- at Level B ($103K - $121K) or Level C ($125K - $143K) plus (17% superannuation and leave loading and annual leave loading) per annum, commensurate with academic qualifications and experience
- to a Convertible Tenure Track Employment Contract for an initial fixed term period of 5 years period, with conversion to continuing appointment based on satisfactory performance and there being sufficient productive work available
The Faculty reserves the right to offer an appointment on a continuing basis or to directly appoint to advertised positions.
We are looking for an early to mid-career academic in Advanced Bionics Manufacturing and Medical Robotics that will have international impact in research, can contribute to the Faculty’s education strategy and contribute to administration in the school, Faculty and University.
