Business Placements Officer
UNITE plus will assist SME businesses in Lancashire to develop their capacity through the uptake of new tools and techniques into their business. It will focus on supporting the SME with an intern working on a pre-arranged and specific project for 140 hours. UNITE plus aims to address graduate attraction and retention for SME businesses in Lancashire by introducing graduates to high quality job roles in the county, as well as introducing SME businesses to high quality graduates from the region.
The Business Placements Officer will liaise with SME businesses in Lancashire to successfully place students and graduates in projects that will assist the company to develop, and to meet ERDF outcome targets. They will identify and work with small businesses to ascertain needs which can be met and to translate these into student/graduate placements. They will also need to develop good working relationships with UNITE+ project partners, both with the Careers service and academic departments which will support the project.
The successful applicant should also have significant experience of working in support of graduate recruitment and retention initiatives. A good honours degree or equivalent professional qualifications/experience in a relevant field of study is essential.
Utilising excellent interpersonal skills, the successful applicant must have an ability to work with people at all levels and a commitment to customer care. An awareness of the skills and benefits graduates and student can offer businesses is essential and the successful applicant will be able to translate a HE resource into viable business solutions.
