Lecturer in Medical Sciences (Anatomy & Neuroscience)
The School wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Sciences to lead and contribute to course management, course delivery and course development in this area and to undertake related research and knowledge transfer activities.
Working within a committed and enthusiastic team you will focus primarily on programmes in the School of Medicine including the MBBS, the BSc Medical Sciences, the Foundation Medical Sciences and the Physician Associates programmes. You will contribute to the areas of course delivery and assessment in Anatomy and Neuroscience within the School of Medicine. You will also undertake income generation, research and knowledge transfer through relevant activities and undertake specific course leader responsibilities in related programmes.
You will hold a PhD in Anatomy or Neuroscience or other relevant area. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) or recognised teaching qualification are not an essential requirement, but would be desirable.
Experience of teaching Anatomy and/or Neuroscience within Higher Education is essential, along with experience of supporting students as a tutor/advisor and of leading modules, including assessment and evaluation. You will have a commitment to continued professional development and of the University's strategy and values.
You must possess excellent communication and presentation skills; have an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and maintain good working relationships with other healthcare professions and NHS partners.
