Applications are invited for a digital technologist to join our expanding department of Media, Culture and Language. This role represents the opportunity to take on a pivotal role in building an applied digital media portfolio, educating digital specialists for the present and the future. Your research and teaching will contribute to the development of our new BA Digital Media (from Sep 2018) and further programme development in other areas of digital technologies. We would like to hear from candidates with a track record in one or more of the following: programming, software development, human-computer interaction (HCI), or user experience.

We are seeking scholars whose work addresses the intersection between digital technologies and communications, in particular the challenges and opportunities of a world in which digital technologies are woven into the fabric of everyday life.

The successful candidate will take a leading role in developing, research and teaching, industry links, and collaborative partnerships in those areas.
This is an exciting time for the University; our new £35m state-of-the art library has just opened and we are continuing to develop a number of external partnerships across the globe.

We have a strong emphasis on supporting our students to reach their full potential in order to launch themselves onto successful graduate careers and we are embarking on a radical programme of enhancement in learning and teaching across all our academic areas.

The University has a beautiful, vibrant parkland campus, is located in the heart of southwest London and offers excellent facilities for researching, learning, teaching and working. We are proud of our achievements as a Post 1992 University and continue to build upon them.

This appointment will be made at the levels of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Reader depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
