Originating in 1843 as one of Britain's first specialist schools for industrial artists and designers, the Sheffield Institute of Arts (SIA) has an impressive heritage. It's a highly creative environment with an inspiring new home - the stunning Head Post Office.

You will join a team teaching a range of modules across our distinctive BA and MA Fashion Management and Communication (FM&C) degree. We recruit high calibre students with strong academic and creative abilities and develop their talents to ensure they graduate with a unique combination of skills well-suited for the fashion / lifestyle arena in which they choose to build their careers.

Experience of preparing undergraduate students for careers involving the communication and promotion of fashion is essential and you will bring with you strong professional relationships and high profile industry contacts to support students in defining and developing their future career paths. You will contribute to teaching a range of modules across the course and be expected to be an active researcher with the ability to contribute to a growing research culture within the Department and Subject group.

You will have specialist expertise in fashion management, marketing, promotion or communication, ideally acquired through experience in industry, academic practice or consultancy projects. Although we're looking for someone with a breadth of fashion industry knowledge, the sort of knowledge and experience that would be an advantage includes:

•    Creative fashion luxury brand management
•    Fashion journalism
•    Fashion communication and promotion
•    PR
