Leverage your experience in preparing preservice early childhood and primary school teachers with your strong professional practice credentials to help grow the next generation of teachers.

Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) existing research portfolio is impressive for a small, youthful university. Ranked in the top 2% of world universities, CDU is currently placed 31st in the top 100 universities in the world under 50 years of age.

CDU’s College of Education delivers teaching and research in education. Our education programs enable students to specialise in early childhood, primary, secondary and tertiary education and training.

As the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Learning your focus will be on building the teaching profile, research capabilities and professional practice of the College of Education in early childhood education. You will coordinate and teach preservice teacher education units, including collaborative practice with College and Batchelor Institute colleagues, and contribute to the development and teaching of units, utilising both on-campus and online teaching methods, and engagement in scholarly work that informs teaching and learning in diverse educational contexts.

To be successful, you require a doctoral level qualification in Education and a nationally recognised teaching qualification with eligibility for teacher registration in the NT or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education. Demonstrated experience in preparing preservice teachers through mixed modes of teaching and an understanding of Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and National Quality Framework is essential.
