Program and Outreach Specialist
BU Spark! is an initiative to support student driven innovation and entrepreneurship in computer science, computer engineering and related disciplines. Housed at Boston Universitys Hariri Institute for Computing, BU Spark aims to help students realize their entrepreneurial potential by providing access to resources, knowledge, and expert networks to support their innovation journeys. The BU Spark! Program and Outreach Specialist will be responsible for the extensive student and community engagement around our programs. This will include publicity and outreach as well as hands on relationship management. The Specialist will be responsible for running the twice annual crowdfunding campaigns including providing student support and leading training and workshops. This role will also be responsible for managing all Spark! events both internal events and those implemented with partner organizations at other colleges and departments across the university. Finally, the Specialist will assist the Director of Spark! in managing the content development for the annual BU in SF program. This role requires a unique combination of creative content development and analytical skills to implement an outreach program that demonstrates measurable increases in engagement.
We seek a dynamic and goals-oriented individual who is able to work both independently and be part of a team. Must have comfort working with ambiguity and in a fast-paced work setting. Flexibility a must. Preference will be given to candidates with proven interest and background in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Requirements also include:
- Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in marketing and communications.
- Proven work experience managing content creation and implementation of social media
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
- Knowledge of online marketing channels
- Event management experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Analytical and multitasking skills
