The University has transformed the delivery of student administration and support through the creation of a new Students Services Department.  An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in this Department as part of the Specialist Processes Team which includes Accessibility, Finance, Funding & Sponsor Relations and Visas & Immigration.  

This role is a new post and will be responsible for overseeing administrative processes in the area of Accessibility which covers Academic and Disability Support and our ACCESS Centre. A key part of the role will be to review existing processes as we transition to a new IT system, streamlining them wherever possible to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, and identifying possible innovation, whilst providing a positive experience for students and staff using the service. Developing and monitoring key performance indicators with regard to the administrative function of the team will also be essential and these indicators along with staff and student feedback will be used to continuously improve in this area.  

The role holder will have significant administrative experience, excellent communication and people skills as well as strong organisational skills. The role will involve overseeing and developing the day-to-day running of the team, allocating resources and scheduling tasks in order to ensure work objectives are met and monitoring relevant budgets. The role will also involve supervising a small number administrative members of staff so some staff management/supervisory experience will be required.

Working in a busy and dynamic environment, the successful candidate will be highly enthusiastic and self-motivated.  They will have an excellent eye for detail and will be experienced in delivering a high quality service in all aspects of the role.  A flexible approach to work and an ability to react appropriately to changing priorities will be essential. Previous experience of working in the area of Accessibility is not required.

This position is full-time, fixed term for two year. The hours will be 36.25 per week, normally 8.45 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday (with a one hour lunch break). Applications for job share will be accepted.
