A Centre Manager is sought for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Cleaner Fossil Energy.The Centre is a joint initiative between the Universities of Nottingham, Birmingham, Loughborough and Sheffield.It supports over 50 doctoral students with involvement from over 25 industrial partners. Reporting to the Director, the Centre Manager will manage this £9M project, which includes £4M from EPSRC and institutional and industrial contributions of £5M. You will be responsible for the recruitment of doctoral students you will act as the primary contact point for the doctoral students, liaising with tutors, managing budgets, managing all links with industry, setting up and implementing reporting systems to monitor progress for internal and external agencies, including EPSRC and the Centre’s Advisory Board.

You should possess an honours degree level or equivalent in science/engineering, minimum second class honours. You will have good project management, communication and presentation skills with an understanding of research funding, having had significant project management experience in an academic, industry or commercial setting.A general knowledge of energy and decarbonisation is desirable.

This is a full time, 36.25 hours per week, fixed term position for 3 years. Job share arrangements may be considered.
