Post-Doc Researcher in NMR spectroscopy

Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CULS), Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources is inviting junior researcher focusing on NMR spectroscopy to submit an application for research mobility within the project “Supporting the development of international mobility of research staff at CULS Prague”, reg. no. CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/16_027/0008366.

The position is funded by EU, managing authority the Czech Operational Programme Research, Development and Education.

Objectives/Job description:

The primary role of the appointee will be to design and perform quantitative and chemometrics NMR methods in both liquid and semi-solid state (HR MAS), develop standard protocols in NMR of biofluids, fermentation liquids, herbal extracts, food (wheat, honey, etc.) for our 500MHz spectrometer. Process and prepare samples provided by other running experimental projects, involving project on medicinal cannabis quality control, polyphenol colonic catabolism, honey authenticity, flour baking properties, or faecal and urine biomarkers of nutritional intake. 

Additional roles will involve training of Ph.D. students, mentoring MSc. theses, maintenance the instrument, reporting and results dissemination.

To be considered for a position, applicants must meet all these requirements:

-    The applicant has worked outside of the Czech Republic for at least 2 years as a researcher (0,5contract or more) or has studied doctoral studies during last 3 years
-    Post-doc status: holder of PhD or ISCED level 8 diploma, qualification completed within last 7 years.
-    Minimum qualification: two published scientific papers within last three years

The Department of Quality of Agricultural Products (DAPQ) focuses on the quality of both animal and plant agricultural products with regard to the requirements laid down in the Common Agricultural Policy and European legislation.
