KTP Associate - Graduate in Computing Science or related discipline (Verbal Arts Centre NI Ltd)
The Verbal Arts Centre was first established in 1992 and has been designing, developing and delivering language arts based projects with individuals and marginalised communities for over 25 years.
Reading Rooms is an accredited, curated, shared reading experience delivered across UK and Ireland to in excess of 25,000 people annually working extensively in the area of Mental health and wellbeing. It is delivered by trained volunteers and is a shared reading-aloud programme that uses curated short stories and poems to encourage participants to share personal experiences, reflect on their present situation, provoke inter-group conversations, stimulate new thoughts and generate personal insights.
The company now wishes to extend the current Reading Rooms Affective Bibliotherapy Model by the creation of a new digital, chatbot-based technology platform that clients can use via mobile and other digital devices in addition to the traditional interaction.
The Company, in collaboration with Ulster University, has established a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) and is offering an exciting opportunity for a graduate to work as a KTP Associate to design and develop this new digital bibliotherapy model and demonstrate strategic leadership in its uptake.

Applicants should hold an honours degree in Computer Science, Computing or a closely-related discipline at 2:1 or above and should have experience in three or more of the following areas: requirements gathering for software design; artificial intelligence; software development; user experience design; user interface design.
The appointment will be for a period of two years and the Associate will be based at the Company’s premises in Derry-Londonderry.
