Managing Editor of News Content
The Managing Editor of News Content is responsible for overseeing and organizing daily editorial work across WBUR's multimedia verticals, but with emphasis on two vertical teams to be determined by the Executive Director of News Content and the Managing Director for News and Programming. In this role, the Managing Editor will work closely with reporters on each team, digital and radio editors and producers across local programs to develop an editorial vision for each team and daily execution towards those visions. The Managing Editor of News Content is responsible for editing radio and digital stories for these two multimedia verticals and, as needed, for other stories or projects. The Managing Editor of News Content will work closely with the Executive Director of News Content to oversee other multimedia verticals, providing editorial direction, and regular guidance and feedback to reporters and editors on stories to foster their professional development. The Managing Editor of News Content works with the Executive News Director, the Sr. Editor/Executive Producer, Digital Managing Editor, Managing Editor and Executive Director of News Content to assign reporters and editors. The Managing Editor of News Content is also responsible for working with reporters and editors to produce news reports that meet the highest journalistic and productions standards.
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred with at least five to eight years of related experience.
