The Faculty of Arts, Computing, Engineering and Science is seeking to appoint a Senior Technician in the Electronics and Communications area of the Materials, Design and Engineering Technical Team.

The Electronics and Communications team supports a wide range of courses which cross a number of academic disciplines. The main activities are to provide high quality technical support for undergraduate laboratories in the STEM area and support a diverse range of activities for the Faculty.

The Ability to demonstrate an in depth knowledge on Electrical/Electronic systems, and instrumentation/measurement is essential. A broader experience within the Electrical field covering 3 Phase and Renewable technologies is also required.

You must be educated to HNC/HND or above (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and / or have experience in an industrial or educational environment. Able to lead by example, you will be well organised and have a shared responsibility for local health and safety implementation. Some flexibility towards working hours is also required.

You will be expected to be proactive and well-motivated, showing initiative and creativity to solve problems as they arise.

With excellent interpersonal and communication skills you will carry out training and demonstrating of equipment operation to students and staff during the normal lab program and during undergraduate projects.
